The HCR, now in its 6th year, is moving to a new location in downtown Northampton to accommodate record-breaking numbers of participants and provide them with an even more festive party atmosphere. Working together with Mayor Higgins and the Northampton Police, race organizers have chosen Old South Street, at the foot of Crafts Avenue (Hampton Ave parking lot), as its new start, finish and after-party location. Now the second largest run & walk in western Massachusetts, organizers anticipate that this year the Hot Chocolate Run will move to number one.

This is our sixth annual 5k race (10:00am) & 2-mile walk (9:30am) to benefit Safe Passage, which is a program that supports battered women and their children in Hampshire County. Please encourage folks to come out for it - it's a great cause, a great course, and racers and walkers receive a race mug and steaming hot chocolate at the finish line! Note, custom mugs limited to the first 3500 registrants this year. Registration/Check-in the Hampton Ave parking lot (near the Northampton Brewery), Northampton, MA. From I-91, exit 18. Turn left, North on Rt 5. Left turn on Hampton Ave (just before traffic light in center of town). Parking garage on your right, event straight ahead. For more info go to www.hotchocolaterun.com.

I know that running/walking a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run/walk unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run/walk. I assume all risks associated with running/walking in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road and/or trail, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. 

Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release Safe Passage and it's Board of Directors, and all sponsors, their representatives, and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I have read the liability waiver and understand the inherent risks with this activity.

I certify that I am 18 years of age or older, or that I am the Parent/Guardian of the entrant and am granting permission for him/her to participate.
