The Course
Over 600 entries are anticipated for this year's
“Friends on the 4th” 5K. Open to all runners, joggers & walkers, don't miss out on central Maine's biggest (and funnest!) road race. After a loop through downtown Main Street, Winthrop, most of the course then follows along the beautiful eastern shore of Maranacook Lake.
Awards & Other
Men & Women - 1
st place awards for the following age categories: 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. Trophy, merchandise/gift certificates for overall M/F winners.
Fabulous assortment of food and beverages provided for all participants at the end of the race. In addition, numerous gift certificates and items donated by area will be drawn at the end of the race with all entries eligible to win.
Pre-race national anthem; 1-mile and 2-mile splits; best "apres-race" celebration with music provided. From the serious runner; to the jogging family; to the walking group of friends - what better way to start off the 4th of July with a "BANG".
T-Shirt & Gift Bag:
T-shirt & stuffed gift bag will be provided to all those who have pre-registered by 12:00 p.m. noon, June 30, 2010.
Registration on race day begins at 7:00 a.m. Fee on race day is $23 payable by cash or check. Any left over T-shirts & gift bags will be distributed on a first come - first served basis.
Proceeds from the race support programs and projects offered by the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed, a 6,500+ member organization whose mission is to "Protect and Improve the 28 Lakes & Streams of the Cobbossee Watershed".
