Safe in the Sun Run

Safe in the Sun Run is a non-profit charity 5K/10K run based in Story County, IA. It was founded by Stage 4 melanoma survivor Jordan Hauck (owner and founder of Crown Cover UPF clothing), physical therapist Megan Burt (owner of Ames Performance Physical Therapy) , and Dermatologist Dr. Leslie Christenson, working to raise melanoma and skin cancer awareness, and promote sun safety.

Proceeds from race registration and our generous sponsors and donors are donated to provide research funds and grants to organizations and Universities implementing sun-safety measures, as well as leading skin cancer and melanoma research efforts.
