About the Races

The Patapsco Summer 5K/10K/10 mile Trail Run is actually 3 different races going on at the same time.  A 5K, a 10K, and a 10 miler - pick your favorite and come out to run

Water Stops & Energy

There will be multiple water stops along the course.  We'll also have sports drinks and a limited about of energy gels, just in case you need a little glucose boost.

Awards

All races and age divisions will have awards for the top 3 finishers.

Rules for the 4 race Sports Hoodie or 5 race Jacket

Afterwards

There will be snacks, drinks, and music for everyone at the finish line. Stick around, chat a bit, and cheer for the awardees.  There is a very nice playground for the kids...

Age Divisions

Each race will be split into the following age divisions: Under 17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

Race Timing

This is a chip timed race. We use single-use tags incorporated into your race number - so no need to worry about returning them after the race. You've got things - like celebrating your big win! - to worry about other than turing in some timing chip.We will post preliminary times every 15 mins, after the first finisher crosses the line. Also, we'll be posting instant results to Racemine.com. You can access Racemine results on you Smartphone within 3 min of your finish.

The Courses

The trails are hard packed single track and wide track, with a couple of good long hills to overcome. You'll love running these fast and flowing trails while passing through light forest.  All 3 courses are challenging and beautiful runs.

Course Maps

The courses are marked in with the red highlight.  The races will start at the Shelters in the Avalon Area, run up the road to the gravel road.  The gravel road climbs to the trails.  The 5K is the smaller loop, the 10K course is the larger loop, and the 10 mile course will do the large loop, then the small loop, before going back down the gravel road to the shelters.

Volunteers

Definitely feel free to bring volunteers! We can always use more people at the water stops, and people helping with parking directions. Plus volunteers get free food after the races... Volunteers should be at the race by 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM to get situated. Please email [email protected] if you are definitely bringing a volunteer...

Number Pickup

We will be opening the Park at 7:30 AM, and number pickup will start at 7:40 AM before the races.

Refunds

We do not offer refunds, unless we have to reschedule or cancel the race.
